JUST CHILLIN'

STUDY OF WOLVERINES DISPELS SOME MYTHS

They say that a wolverine is the only animal a grizzly bear will back down from.

That's pretty bad ass in my book.

ALASKANS DESERVE BETTER FROM REALITY TV

I think most Alaskans would agree that, if you are not going to represent us correctly, than we no longer want to offer you tax credits to film here.

Get the fuck out!

Simple as that.

KISS A MOOSE

Here is a site I came across the other day.

This is one of the best wildlife photographers I have ever seen in the 35 years I have been here.

Please visit this site and take a look at some of this fabulous work.

FAMILY FINDS CLOSURE IN REMAINS FROM BOAT THAT SANK IN THE BERING SEA

Incredible story. I have spent a few years chasing fish, and I assure you, the ocean is a big space. For this to have even happened is astronomical odds.

To say I hope this brings peace to this family would sound shallow if I didn't recognize those others who were lost in this tragedy.

I hope all those associated with this terrible loss have found peace.

ANTONOV 225 LARGEST AIRPLANE IN THE WORLD LANDS IN FAIRBANKS

I came across this video while I was on You Tube the other day. Whoever filmed this had to be standing directly in front of me. I was there, and seen this same view. LOL. Small WORLD.

Anyhow, this was really awesome to see land and taxi, unfortunately I didn't get to see it take off.

Glad to find this video, because, I had no camera or video that day.

"The Antonov 225, the world's largest airplane, (that actually flies). lands in Fairbanks, Alaska, USA, on February 9, 2010 for refueling on a flight to deliver disaster relief from Japan to Haiti. This plane was built to transport the Soviet Union's "Buran" space shuttle. The Buran is long gone, but now you can rent the 225 to transport large cargo."

AWESOME!! Was great to experience.

HOW COLD IS IT WHERE YOU LIVE?

"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."

This was this morning in Fairbanks, Alaska.

MAN WALKS 46 MILES AT 35F BELOW ZERO

I wonder if he was heading for the liquor store in the next village.

These natives are tough as hell.

EVERYWHERE A MOOSE MOOSE

A plea to dub Anchorage the city of Moose.

Moose aren't the only problem there. I believe 2 or 3 people were attacked by bears while walking their bike paths this past Summer.

INTO THE BLUE!

All I can say is WOW!!

Climber Jason Nelson manoeuvres through Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska as the pair tackle a moulin shaft

DISAPPEARING ARCTIC

Should we start pointing fingers or get together and see if we can work on some solutions?

Climatologists are particularly concerned about melting sea ice in the Arctic and have created a time-lapse animation to show how fast old ice is vanishing. This still shows old ice (in white) and ice under a year old (in blue) in 1987, since when amounts have declined

CHARGING MOOSE ON STEROIDS

Incredible how fast animals this big can be!!!
